Our Mission

The mission of the Nigerian Students & Professionals  is to promote, encourage and strengthen a perpetual, strong, focused and extended youth-led, world-wide organization, that encourages strong interpersonal, professional and business relationships, which would enhance both the individual and community leadership potentials of its members and cultivate a positive world-renowned Nigerian identity.

Our Goals and Objectives

* To instill in our youth an ever-deepening sense of identity and pride in the Nigerian culture that will help to insure our survival and continuity.
We will stress the historic, cultural, and ethical aspects of our Nigerianess in an effort to create identity which is relevant to contemporary life and which is committed to the social values of community
responsibility.

* Through exposure to Nigerian values, fostering an appreciation for responsibility to
apply these values and providing us with standards for the conduct of our own lives and those of succeeding generations. We will seek to strengthen the Nigerian identity.

* To build the framework for professional relationships, social friendships/relationships
and business opportunities that will challenge young Nigerians to continue the traditions of education, leadership, advocacy and responsibility that have inspired the entire continent without stepping on individual religious beliefs or interests.

--- Everything from celebrating holidays together, sharing experiences and travel.

* To give young Nigerians in the Diaspora as much information as possible on the religious-cultural-historic essence of the Nigerian ethnicity.

We currently have a basic website, that aims to be a clearinghouse of youth-related information with links to a vast array of information of use to parents, youth, group leaders in colleges and the different cultural organizations that currently exist. We will be upgrading it in the near future.
Useful information will be organized and cataloged with brief descriptions;

* To continuously advise and support leadership skills, empowerment, professional/business networking across occupational lines. Developing the power of individuals to make connections that will make a difference in the Nigerian community.

* To entertain, educate, inspire and remind our youth that they are part of a vibrant, progressive, sometimes aggressive community that pursues success with vigor and energy.
This calls for the need to project the Nigerian traditional emphasis on success, moral integrity combined with educational achievements. The continuity and survival of our Nigerian roots is paramount.

* To emphasize caring for fellow Nigerians everywhere. The values of caring that transform lives and perform miracles.

* To build the tolerance, the understanding, and the excitement that holds our Nigerian families together, crossing all borders to pursue care for the poor, food for the hungry, and advocacy and compassion for everyone who needs it, within and outside our large extended family structure.

This club will be launched in November 2003. At this time, the foundations of the club will be laid down.
The organization will be voluntary, apolitical and non-religious, associating Nigerian youth between the ages of 18 to 35 years in the Diaspora.

With this in mind, our immediate goals are:-

*Develop membership
*Organize forums
*Develop website
*Develop world-wide Directory of members
*Promote tours on rotational basis

Our Philosophy

The NSP will help the Nigerian youth to help themselves. The founders of he NSP believe that more than ever, people everywhere in all walks of life, seek to maximize their personal happiness.
For most, their immediate path is in the direction of success, health, relationships, learning, or some combination thereof. Success and prosperity capture the imagination and interest of almost everyone.
Today, cultural identity and retention is unquestionably a critical aspect of the Nigerian family and can no longer be viewed as a separate element of our homes.
To preserve the good part of the Nigerian culture, parents need the tools necessary to make the home an on going educational experience for their children. The NSP activities will contribute to the youth appreciation and knowledge of the Nigerian culture.
